No contributions to the mountain of trash.
A traditional replumbing requires extensive intrusions into a building. But everything that is torn out has to be taken care of, taken away and put somewhere: in the dump. It is said that, on the average, every replumbed apartment generates 1.4 tons of waste. And this is not any old waste: there can, for example, be asbestos in the tile adhesive and lead in old pipe joints. The dangerous substances don’t do any damage as long as they stay where they are. But when you tear up walls and floors, they are released and land in the building first, and then in the dump, where there is a risk that they will eventually start to leak out into nature.
It is extra serious now when the renovation needs of the houses built in the 50´s, 60´s and 70´s are starting to increase more rapidly. Multiply 1.4 tons of waste by all of the apartments that need to be replumbed and you will see that enormous amounts of waste will be produced, if it is done in the traditional way. With Proline’s method, we build new pipes without tearing down. No environmentally dangerous waste is created. On the contrary, the old pipes are reclaimed by using them as molds for the new ones. The material we use in the Proline method® is a styrene-free polyester that is recyclable. In addition, both our method and our material contribute to a good work environment. There is no noise, no dust, and less wear-and-tear damage since no demolition tools are necessary.
The Proline®-method proves that it is possible to combine ekonomical efficiency with environmental awareness and create soloutions that are more competitive than traditional methods.
