Trelleborg HOSPITAL
In 2007, Proline got the contract for repairing the pipes on the ground floor in 2 blocks of Trelleborg Hospital. The work was done in two stages. Parallel with Proline’s work, the building was also remodeled into a dialysis department. Proline first fixed the pipes, and after that the remodeling took place. In this way, time could be saved and less demolition work was necessary. In the next stage, the pipes in the block that houses the hospital’s psychiatric ward were done. This places great demands for as minimal disturbance as possible so that the hospital activity can continue.
“The pipes were embedded in concrete which would have meant extensive demolition work if they had been replaced entirely. Because of the poor condition of the pipes, it also meant that they were easy to clog. In an environment like that of the hospital, it is important that all remodeling and renovations take place with as little effect as possible on daily activity. With Proline, we got such a solution,” says Tommy Magnusson, project leader for Regionfastigheter and responsible for awarding the project.
